<p>Look at me! I am a Newfypoo puppy! My Mom is Kelsey a Newfoundland and my Dad is Marco a Standard Poodle. I was born on January 19th and I will be ready for my forever home on March 17th! I have been family raised on a mini farm in the country. I have had my shots and dewormers. I have been checked by a veterinarian and I am microchipped. <p>This gentle and easy-going working breed was first discovered in Newfoundland, Canada. They were primarily used to assist fishermen with their nets, as well as being used to haul wood from the forest. Newfoundlands are quite adept at swimming due to their expansive lung capacity, thick coat, and webbed feet. They have often been used in search and rescue efforts in the cold Atlantic waters due to those traits. The Newfoundland are a large breed and are typically 25-28 inches tall, commonly weigh 100-180 pounds, and generally have a lifespan of 8-10 years.</p>
<p>The history of the Poodle spans centuries as well as across various countries, and they are one of the smartest breeds in the world. When you think of a Poodle what comes to mind is the circus performing dog with the fancy haircuts and frilly outfits.. However, they were initially bred to be water retrievers. They would leap into the water and fetch fowl, arrows, and whatever else a hunter needed to be recovered. One would think the little Poodle originated in France but its history is from Germany. The breed had its hair cut in a specific style to assist them in the job they were meant to do. They are extremely bright, dignified, and devoted, and make great pets for the family.</p>
