Sealies are lower energy than other terriers, making them a good housedog. They still do well with a daily walk or run around a fenced in yard. Be wary of activity in the heat, as their coat makes them overheat easier.

  • Grooming

The Sealie's coat does not shed and must be clipped on a regular basis to reduce matting. This breed has a "beard" that needs to be combed daily to maintain cleanliness. Sealyham Terriers need to be brushed down to their skin, ensuring that both their outercoat and undercoat are clean and untangled. Using slicker brushes, pin brushes, and metal combs are best when grooming a Sealie. Additionally, Sealyham Terriers only need bathed around once a month.
