Dachapoo Puppies

While the appearance of Dachapoos varies greatly, their personalities are more predictable. They are affectionate and loving to their family, and love playing with children and other pets. They do not like being left alone and should be mentally stimulated with playtime and family interaction.

Being a hybrid, Dachapoos are generally healthier than purebreds but could inherit health problems from either parent, such as hip dysplasia, canine Cushing’s disease, bloat, intervertebral disc disease, Legg-Calve Perthes Disease, or Addison’s disease.

Dachapoos have a moderate to high energy level and need daily exercise to thrive. Daily walks or trips to the dog park allow them to burn energy and socialize with other humans and animals.

The Dachapoo's coat varies slightly based off of what parent it most resembles. Generally, it will be curly like the poodle parent and will not shed much. To help keep those curls from matting, daily brushing is recommended. You'll also want to trim their fur every month or two to keep it from growing too long.

Thanks to their Poodle parent, Dachapoos do not shed much making them hypoallergetic in most circumstances.

Dachapoos vary from toy-sized to medium-sized depending on the genetics they get from their parents. Many Dachapoos have the long shape of the dachshund with the shaggy coat of the poodle. They are hypoallergenic thanks to the poodle parent, and will shed sparingly depending on the fur it inherits.
