Bernedoodle Puppies

Bernedoodles are affectionate, happy-go-lucky dogs that are loving with their families and great with children. No matter whether a Bernedoodle favors its Poodle parent or Bernese Mountain Dog parent, it will likely grow up being a well-rounded, playful dog. These dogs are very loyal and devoted, and they are at their happiest when spending time with their human "pack." That said, it's important to note that Bernedoodles do not tolerate being left alone for extended periods of time, and they may experience separation anxiety if left by themselves for too long. Bernedoodles are quite intelligent, so training them usually isn't difficult. However, it's possible for a Bernedoodle to inherit some of the Bernese Mountain Dog's stubbornness, so training should be firm, yet kind. Over all, if you're looking for a dog for the whole family, the Bernedoodle is a great choice.

Bernedoodles are a healthy crossbreed, but they can be susceptible to conditions common with their parent breeds. Responsible breeders will screen for hip/elbow dysplasia and eye issues.

Some Bernedoodles are more active than others, but these dogs generally have moderate needs for physical and mental stimulation. They love to be outdoors, but once their exercise requirements are met, Bernedoodles are more than happy to lounge around.

Bernedoodles will shed minimally, but you should still brush their curly coats weekly to keep it healthy. They should only be bathed when necessary, and their ears and teeth should be cleaned regularly to avoid infection.

In fact, a breeder from a kennel located in Ontario, Canada claims to be the first person to intentionally breed the Bernedoodle in 2003. However, it is possible that the mix existed prior. Since then, the Bernedoodle's popularity has taken off, and the breed is now a popular designer dog that is registered by the American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC), the Designer Canine Registry (DCR), and several other dog clubs for hybrid and designer breeds.
